• What is 40 Days for Life? According to their website it is an increased effort to pray, hold vigils, and bring "side-walk counselors" to abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood's across the U.S., Canada, and Ireland. While most demonstrations are peaceful, the reality of having tons of strangers "praying for you", holding up potentially offensive posters, and trying to counsel you is a grim one. No woman should have to endure harassment when she is attempting to exercise reproductive freedom. Many women entering these clinics have no intention of obtaining an abortion and are simply needing access to many of the other health services offered.                                                                                                                                                                    Case In Point: There is nothing peaceful about bringing crowds of people to judge women over private decisions.
  • The Hidden Dangers of Increased Clinic Harassment: While 40 Days for Life does make all members affiliated with their specific movement sign peaceful-protest agreements, they in no way have any control over the violent and hateful fringe-elements that use the increased clinic harassment as a safety net for far less peaceful activism. Many clinics will see an increase in hate-speech filled protest posters, and the potential for clinic violence is increased with the more people involved.
  • The REAL Goal of 40 Days for Life:  Intimidation.  Huge groups of people judging your decisions will ALWAYS intimidate a person. Some are less prone to intimidation than others. The 40 Days for Life movement capitalizes on intimidating women in a delicate emotional situation. This is NOT peaceful, and this is NOT loving.
